Our websites are the digital front door for our patients, donors, candidates and others to enter Aurora. Alex monitors and analyzes each site, watching traffic flow, campaign performance, trends and other key measures to ensure his customers’ needs are being met – both internal partners, as well as patients.
What’s the biggest challenge of your work?
The biggest challenge is scope because the possibility of what we could do on our websites is endless, however we only have so many resources. We prioritize our work based on the goals we’ve set out, the strategy laid out by our leaders and what our patients tell us they want.
What does "We’re with you" mean for your work?
It means we can be with people literally anywhere. Because of the work our digital team does, our patients are able to take Aurora with them. For example, they could find a doctor, register for a class, or have a video visit with a provider. We have websites for the Aurora Health Care Foundation, recruiting, Aurora Family Services and so many more. Each one offers a different benefit for the community and they’re all available whenever they’re needed.
What’s a benefit you’ve taken advantage of?
Paid time off (PTO) is a benefit I take advantage of so I can spend time with family and friends or travel. PTO is for me so that I can take a break from work and come back recharged and ready to take on the next project. Aurora allows you to roll over PTO, which is a great benefit, as it enables you to spend vacation days when you need to rather than having to use them up before the end of the year.
You’re known in your department as an excellent baker. What’s your favorite treat to bring in to the office?
I enjoy baking and sharing many of the treats I make with my coworkers. My favorite baked good to bring into the office is cookies as there are a multitude of varieties, they’re easy to share, and who doesn’t like a cookie?
