Clinic Nursing

The convenience of Aurora Health Care’s outpatient and clinic services allow patients to receive all the care they need, often in one location. Caregivers at outpatient and clinic facilities are highly knowledgeable and experienced to provide excellent service.

Providing care in an ambulatory or clinic setting allows you to work more closely and build stronger rapport with the providers you support. At the same time, you can build therapeutic relationships with patients through continuity of care. You will be able to promote wellness, teach healthy behaviors, and help manage patients' complex medical conditions. Our clinic caregivers are able to learn several areas of care, diagnosis and treatment within one location.


Float Pool

The Clinical Staffing Services department at Aurora Health Care serves the Greater Milwaukee Area, by offering nurses of all levels a flexible opportunity to support units during high census and acuity. By coordinating our own internal staffing needs, we can help maintain our patient-centered approach to care and uphold Aurora’s values.

Float pool nurse complete the Aurora Development and Advancement Model, often serving on shared governance teams at individual sites and for the Greater Milwaukee patient service markets. Caregivers are often called upon to fill special assignments to meet patient needs.

As a member of the float pool:

  • Nurses have the ability to pick their own specialty
  • Nursing assistants, patient care assistants, and health unit coordinators serve all units
  • Opportunities to stay at one facility or move throughout market area
  • Nurses can serve a unit/site with long term assignment, if desired
  • Differentials are provided to compensate for complexity of care and site where care is provided
